Anand-based Akanksha Infertility Clinic, a cornerstone in India’s Rs 1,300 cr-plus commercial surrogacy industry, wore a weary look with surrogate mothers asking each other about the bill. The hospital, helmed by Dr Nayana Patel, has delivered over 100 babies annually since 2010. 62 mothers are in different stages of pregnancy at the facility right now.
