Over 150 military veterans, including eight former chiefs, in a letter to President Kovind, expressed concern over "politicisation of the armed forces". In the letter, the veterans objected to politicians "taking credit" for military operations and political posters with pictures of soldiers, especially of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
