July 2016

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. In an interview with the BBC, Meghan recalls, “I didn’t know much about him, and so the only thing that I had asked her when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, I had one question. I said, ‘well is he nice?’”. The couple went out on two more dates the same month when later Harry invited Markle on a trip to Botswana.

After dating for a couple of months, the couple kept things low key until their romance hit the headlines when an anonymous source told the British tabloid Sunday Express about Harry’s new girlfriend.

8th November 2016

Finally the news was out and Prince Harry confirmed Meghan to be his girlfriend and condemned press coverage of her stating he fears for her safety and that the media had crossed the line by using “racial undertones” in their stories. The statement triggered memories of his mother Princess Diana, who had died in a car crash while being pursued by press photographers.

6th September 2017

Vanity Fair magazine had Meghan Markle open up about her relationship with the prince in their cover story. She said, “At the end of the day I think it is really simple. We’re two people who are really happy.”

Meghan Markle who was well known for her role in ‘Suits’ declared that she was quitting her acting role in the U.S. and moving to England.

The official announcement sworn in and the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was fixed. The couple appeared for photographers on the grounds of Kensington Palace, and Harry said he was “over the moon.”

9th January 2018

Meghan Markle had shut down her social media accounts following the footsteps of all the royals as per tradition. The news was confirmed by Kensington Palace that she had closed her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

12th March 2018
